Aims, Values and Ethos

Our Vision

Gallions Mount School recognises the potential for every individual  to achieve excellence.

Our vision is to build a community where everyone believes they can achieve both now and in the future. We aim to build a stimulating, safe and respectful learning environment, where we all work in partnership so that each child can achieve their best. We want our children to leave as happy, confident, lifelong learners, who have acquired positive attitudes and values, enabling them to contribute to the world in which they live.

We Believe

  • Everyone can achieve
  • Everyone is a learner and learning is life long
  • Learning is a shared responsibility between staff, children, parents and governors
  • Learning should be purposeful and set where possible in real life
  • Problem solving and thinking skills are key to learning
  • PSHE and emotional literacy is integral to all learning
  • ICT skills are incorporated throughout the curriculum
  • Health and physical education are key to promoting well being

Our Values

Our school values encourage the children to 'REACH' - striving for excellence through:

  • Resilience - the ability to recover quickly from difficulties and persevere
  • Enjoyment - the feeling of enjoying all that school has to offer both in and out of the classroom
  • Achievement - succeeding at doing something
  • Confidence - being certain of their abilities and how to build on them
  • Honesty - being honest and truthful

Our mural displayed in the Key Stage 2 hall was created by all students attending Gallions Mount. It reminds the children on a daily basis that if they continue to 'REACH' and work hard they can achieve great things.

Resilience . Enjoyment . Achievement . Confidence . Honesty
