Expectations

Our school expectations coincide with our home school agreement. 

Gallions Mount Primary School will try to: 

  • encourage children to do their best at all times and help them achieve their full potential
  • encourage children to take care of their surroundings and others around them
  • inform parents/carers about any concerns or problems that affect their child’s work or behaviour
  • contact parents/carers if there is a problem with attendance, punctuality or equipment
  • arrange parents/carers evenings during which your child’s progress will be discussed
  • inform parents/carers about school activities, notices about special events and specific curriculum aims through regular letters home, newsletters, social media and our school website
  • provide a broad and balanced curriculum and meet the individual needs of each child
     

We expect our parents and carers to try to:

  • support their child in homework and other opportunities for home learning
  • support the school’s policies and guidelines for behaviour
  • let the school know about any concerns or problems that might affect their child’s work or behaviour
  • see that their child goes to school regularly,  on time and properly equipped [eg book folder, PE kit, school uniform] and provide a note of explanation when their child is absent
  • attend parent’s evenings and discussions about their child’s progress
  • get to know about their child’s life at the school
     

We expect our pupils to:

  • do their class work and homework as well as they can
  • be polite, helpful and friendly to others, obeying the school’s Golden Rules
  • attend school regularly and on time, bringing with them all the things they will need eg book folder, PE kit
  • take good care of the school equipment, the school building and the school grounds
