Sports Day

Our sports day takes place up on Winns Common during the summer term. Years 4, 5 and 6 compete in the morning session and years 1, 2 and 3 compete in the afternoon.

All children are split into countries and take it in turns to rotate around a course of various sporting activities. Points are collected during each activity with more points up for grabs for taking a chance on the harder options or by managing to throw objects further than expected. The overall score announced once all races are complete.

We encourage parents and carers to run their own race as well as holding a race for younger siblings and a staff race.

Sports Day is always a huge success and enjoyed by all children and adults involved. It’s a great showcase of how well our pupils can work together as a team by supporting and encouraging one and other. The children are also able to experience all of our school values by taking part; Resilience, Enjoyment, Achievement, Confidence and Honesty.

Our Nursery and Reception Sports Day run along the same type of format but take place on a separate day from the rest of the school. They also hold their Sports Day on our premises, in the junior playground.
