COVID-19 Learning

Since our return to school following the lockdown and summer holiday, we have made alterations to the way we work in school and the way children access learning online at home. We have updated our parent handbook and have also created a risk assessment specific to COVID-19. These can be found as attachments that can be downloaded at the bottom of this page. You may also wish to continue to use some of the links below when at home with your children.

Links and ideas for home learning during the COVID-19 school closure

Below you will find some useful ideas and links to learning resources that will help support your child's learning while they are absent from school during this difficult time. The images link to learning resources and activities that can be completed in addition to the work packs that were sent home.

We understand that this is a difficult time for everyone and as much as it is important for the children to continue with their learning it is also important to remember to have a break and do something different, like bake a cake, read with your children or join in with Joe Wicks and his 9am PE lesson.

Our closed parent and carer Facebook Group has become somewhat of an online community where we are now sharing images of things the children have been doing at home, sharing useful links and tips and maintaining the positive collective spirit that we are proud of. If you wish to join this group as a parent/carer, please ensure you have completed the terms and conditions form accessible through Parent Mail, alternatively you can follow us on Twitter @GallionsMount.

If you require any help and support during this difficult time, please call (0208 854 2691) or email us ( and we will try to help as best we can. Please note that our phone lines are being operated on a very small scale and as most members of staff are working from home, there may be a slight delay in response time.

Stay safe and look after one and other - We are all in this together!

The Horniman Museum have uploaded videos of challenges that can be completed at home linking to some of the exciting things they have in their museum. From making your own toys to interviewing someone at home and writing about them, the activities are great for getting creative.

Kew Gardens are providing engaging lessons in plant science and the environment. Check out their website and register for free today.

If your children are missing choir, singing in assembly or class or would just like to learn a new song, SingUp have made some of their resources free. If this is something your children are keen to use, we would love to see some of their performances.

Baker Ross have made a number of colouring resources and worksheets available. They include colouring sheets to thank and celebrate the NHS and sheets to colour that celebrate VE Day. The VE day colouring can be downloaded below. Further colouring materials can be found on the Baker Ross website by clicking on their logo to the left.

We have also provided some images below of things that can be made out of household items. The ideas have been taken from Pinterest which is a free site that offers many useful ideas for Home Learning.
